Hastings Football Club U18 & Colts teams
gearing up for an assault on the 2009 season.
Hastings Football Club and especially the Under 18's are looking forward to a great season against the local rivals. With pre-season commencing several weeks ago the preparation is well under way. The number of Under 18's in attendance has been terrific. In consultation with the Hastings Junior Club and knowing that many Under 16 players do not make the transition to Under 18's football, the Hastings Football Club will be fielding a Hasting FC Colts team this year. This team is effectively an U17 team which will allow players an additional year to prepare for Under 18 football. Playing Colts or Under 18 football with Hastings is great value as your fees are subsidised 100% by the Hastings Football Club, you have access to a newly fitted Gym with $25000 worth of equipment, the Club rooms and Hastings Club facilities are second to none, we have a pre season partnership with the local Western Port Secondary College that allows us o train on their grounds, and all players will have the opportunity if capable of playing a few matches in the reserves or seniors. The senior coach, Tyson Lane plays a mentoring role with the Under 18's and is always on the lookout for capable footballers to assist in any team where able. Last year as an example, 10 Under 18 players got to experience what playing football was like in the senior team.
With a Colts team being fielded in 2009, the Hastings FC is now inviting expressions of interest from anyone who would be interested in coaching the Colts team through this exciting development period at Hastings. Expressions of interest can be sent to Colts Coaching Position, Hastings FC, P.O. Box 34, Hastings, Victoria, 3915. This is a great opportunity to get a coaching role and work with the other coaches in the Hastings FC. The current coaches are Grant Cust - U18, John Mitchell - Reserves, Tyson Lane - seniors.
