Club Notes - Round 15

Friday, August 01, 2008 - Posted by Webmaster

Tough day at Mornington on the weekend, no joy for any of the teams, but it was great to see young Adam Hirst and Daniel Kerber play thier first senior games for Hastings. Let's hope it is the first of many.

Tough few weeks ahead for the club, but let's try to finish off the season with a big effort. Terrible injury suffered by Jason Kestle on the weekend, hopefully once he has his operation he will be good as gold and looking forward to next season, just like the other 11 players with season ending injuries.

On a brighter note, congratulations to Richard Everist on being named ruck rover and vice captain of the MPNFL team of the century. It was a terrific honour for Richard and a great reward for a fantastic career. Congratulations to Bob Stone for being named at center half back in the team as well, Bob won 4 MPFL league B&F'S as well as playing in 3 premierships and also well done to Guy Stringer for also making the team. While Guy has played at 3 other clubs he played 55 games for Hastings where in that time he won a club B&F as well as being picked for the All-Australian team in 2002. So well done to those three players on making the MPNFL team of the century.
