Club Notes - Round 11
Thursday, July 03, 2008 - Posted by Webmaster
Another 3 losses against Bonbeach last week but we keep learning through this tough period. The under eighteens had 5 late withdrawals on the morning of the game and had to field a team of 17. The boys stuck tough leading at stages through the first half only to be over run and out played in the second half. Also the task was left to too few as some of the side tried valiantly in the face of defeat where others flew the white flag well too early.
The reserves toiled hard all day and played good football in patches but not consistent enough to match the second placed side. It was pleasing to see the team fight to the end but it is hard for Luke to win games when blokes do not train.
The seniors lost by 14 goals in which most of the damage was done pretty much either side of half time. It has been noted that 14 senior players from the first game against Bonbeach did not play this time around which has had obviously a detrimental effect on all sides as players push up to fill the vacancies. Let us keep trying our hardest today against Karingal and take home some victories after a tough mid-season.
Remember our annual ball is on the 12th of July at the club. $100 per head includes a three course meal, live band and beer, wine and soft drink. Tickets can be obtained from Daniel (Piggy) Metcalf or contacting the club on 59791740.
